As a dedicated member of the Greene County community, Kristine Mapp is excited to announce her candidacy for Chair of the Greene County Board of Education. With over 30 years of experience in education, Kristine is committed to ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success.
Kristine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s in Special Education. Her educational background and classroom experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our schools, particularly for students with varying needs.
Passionate about fostering a supportive learning environment, Kristine believes in the importance of strong communication between schools, parents, and the community. She has been actively involved in the community for 30 years, including serving on the White Plains City Council for over 3 years, advocating for resources that enhance student learning and community as a whole.
As a parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent of 10 children who attended Greene County schools, Kristine understands firsthand the needs of families and the importance of collaboration in education. Her vision for the school board includes:
Enhancing Educational Opportunities: Advocating for programs that promote STEM, the arts, and vocational training to prepare students for a diverse range of careers.
Strengthening Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents and community members to ensure that every voice is heard in the decision-making processes.
